67 transmission reinstall

I'm new (first time) at this so please go easy on me. Recently on my 67 coupe I had the 327/350 motor reworked and it was removed from the car. After reinstalling the car drives terrible with shuttering, roaring and generally lot's of noise and vibration not on the car before the engine was removed and replaced. Is it because there is a driveline realignment problem? If it is a transmission/motor alignment problem any suggestions for a cure?

Jack,

You are going to get a lot of suggestions from the board, but ALL will be a shot in the dark. Sorry, but without being there, hearing and seeing there will be no educated guesses from this cowboy.

Taking it to a good mechanic with experience on Corvettes would be wise and will stop you from chasing dozens of stupid suggestions.

Who reinstalled the engine? It is unlikely that the problem is in any of the other components, but with the new engine there are a lot of little details such as timing, spark plug wire installation, fuel, vacuum leaks, etc. that could cause a lot of the type problems you are describing.

As mentioned above, you need to get the car to a competent mechanic and get the engine sorted out before chasing other drivetrain problems.

Welcome! Your question is vague, and so, any well meaning answers will be "all over the place". If you don't already belong to a local NCRS chapter, then join one, and seek out the chapter guru(s) for help. I would do this before seeking out a mechanic, unless you are ABSOLUTELY certain of his integrity.
Unless you can help us out with details, then you might have to provide us with transportation costs and all the beer we can drink .

Is it a stick? or Auto? Check to see that the drive shaft U-joints are set right to the out put yoke and rear .

Jack,

Is the vibration present when just the engine is running or does it begin when the car starts moving? I was thinking the exact same thing Roy was on the universal joint assembly. If the vibration begins when the car starts moving, I would guess the front joint is not properly seated between the tabs on the front drive shaft yoke.
