1975 Anti-Theft Alarm System Not Working

I have just installed and had finished up my ground-up frame off restoration of my 1975 Roadster. Everything works now except for the Anti-theft alarm system. When I insert the key at a horizontial position and then turn it to the right or a vertical/upright position, my horns go off. I am assuming at this point that the horns honking are not suppose to happen unless the hood is opened.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong for this sysytem not to work properly. Your help and advice would be appreciated.

Lyle I think the key should be vertical and turn to horizontial but to answer your question the doors and the hood have switches and one of them is causing the alarm to sound. The door switches use a plastic pad on the door for the button to hit in 75 I think.If missing the travel on the plunger is to short. Lyle 24961

One simple test is to open the hood and have Linda hold the alarm switch down while you go through the arming procedure. If the horn honks, use the same procedure on each door switch located at each rear door jam. If the horn continues to sound, the next most likely culprit is the relay located in the jack well. They normally fail in the open position but if it is shorted out it may cause the horn to blow as you described. If all this fails, try replacing the flasher unit located next to the relay. New door switches are available at Paragon but they do not have the logo on the plunger. These are combination switches that also activate the door ajar light on the console.
