C2 Base Engine Vacuum Advance Line

66 JM states that L79 350hp engine has a chrome plated vac advance line. What about base engine 300 hp-- was this also chrome plated or just plain steel?

What's kind of ironic is that Long Island Corvette, considered the authority by some for mid year parts, lists in their catalog that the vac advance for the base engine and 350 hp engine to be chrome plated.

Paragon and the Doc show it that way too, but, having worked there, I have a hard time believing that the bean counters would have spent the money for a chrome vacuum advance line on the base engine; maybe they did. I don't have a definitive reference one way or the other.

I'm gonna check my friend's 66 base engine car. This is a very low mileage original engine car.
