1953-54-55 Hubcaps

I have six hubcaps that fit 53-54-55 Corvettes. Two have red painted thin insets, and four have the insets painted black. Which is correct. I can see some red under the black, so they may have been repainted. Did the same wheel cover also come on passenger cars?

Red is correct. The cap is 53-55 Corvette only, not passenger car. Chuck

I've seen them painted other colors also years ago. Who cared back then when the Corvettes were bringing $300.00
