C1 Shocks and Springs

I would like to upgrade my suspension on my 59 for a better ride, should I replace shocks, coils,and leaf? Is there a after market package out there?

When I had my 62, I had the rear springs rebuilt with new liners and new bushings. Installed with new shocks and radial tires and I could not believe how nice it rode.

You could install rear AIR shocks. My 55 rear spring were sagging . I pull a tear drop trailer and drive at least 5,000 mile a year. 23 years ago I added rear AIR shocks to control the height, which also is like having air suspension. front gas shocks, front wheel ROLLOR bearings and radial tires. It ride better then any of the other C1's I' v owned.( it's easy and enjoyable now to drive) I posted a while back how I added power brakes , which no one can tell by looking under the hood ( now will put you through the window).
This may not be for you ( NCRS and all that) but works for me.
I hear to many people complaining about the REPRO. front and rear springs they use.

I put four Delco

gas-shocks on my C1 last year, and the improvement was HUGE.

The '59 I bought about a year ago has Delco gas shocks and repro wide white wall radial tires. I am very pleased with the ride.
