Date Stamped in '67 BB trim and vin tags?

I'm looking at an original paint '67 L36 Coupe and noticed that it has "12 66" stamped in the VIN and Trim tags??? I've never seen this before, but then again, am not that familiar with '67's. Is this common? It's a one owner car with all docs...Thanks, Mark.

Yep, They were all supposed to be stamped by the dealer, but not too many were.

I heard that dealers did that also but never saw it before. I believe that Al Grenning would have other pictures of dated tags.

Starting in the mid 60's, the dealer was supposed to stamp the delivery date in the VIN tag. That's what the DD is for on the tag. My 66 has the date stamped also.

I have the dealer number and date stamped on my 66 impala vin tag,I discovered after many posts,Someone had a list of know dealerships that did practice it on all inventory.
Does it agree with the dealer invoice is the question?
