Are they worth the investment for a regular "driver"? The car is a '59 with 350 with 4 speed and the drums and shoes are clean and in good shape. The car is used for cruise nights, Sunday drives, and whenever I need a smile which usually means exercising the horses. I know it isn't supposed to stop like my '66 but I would consider any improvement when it comes to safety. Thanks. Pat

Re: Kevlar brake shoes for C1
If the brakes perform satisfactorily conventional organic shoes should be fine, and given your reported driving style, it sounds like conventional shoes are satisfactory.
If you drive "hard" and experience brake fade, the best lining choice is probably carbon-metallic such as available from:

Kevlar pads have good noise and wear characteristics, but I'm not sure if they improve brake performance under severe conditions, so they would probably not be superior to conventional organic lining materials in normal driving.
