    63 tach bounce

How should I go about trying to solve this on my 63. Its steady at idle but bounces when accelerating. I just replaced the cable but no improvement....the cable has a couple of wide turns in it ... seemed about 4 inches too long. Thanks

    James-----

Often times this problem is caused by a loss of dampening in the tachometer head. A good instrument repair technician might be able to restore the dampening, although I have found that, for whatever reason, it seems to be a pretty difficult feat to get accomplished. Unfortunately, new tachometer head mechanisms, which were available until recently, are now GM-discontinued.
