While I was surveying my way through Carlisle this weekend I was looking for a carb for my '68 Auto. #7028208. Found a few #7028207 but no 8208. Were these used on any other GM vehicles? And are they that had to find?

327 300 hp with automatic, carb is rare enough to not show up in the Mitchells or Hollander interchange manuals of the period.Bill Clupper #618- Top

I don't recollect that the "207" Q-Jet was used for any other Chevrolet applications, but it's possible that it was. The reason that you found the '"207" carbs so easily is that they were sold in SERVICE for many, many years as SERVICE replacements for all 68-69 Q-Jet applications. There are MANY of these "around".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Question Re:Correction
Joe,
All of the Judging Guides, Parts books and service documentation I have seen indicates that #7028208 was the Quadjet carb used on '68 327/300 hp with automatic. If you have a reference that this was not correct, what was the correct carb for this engine combination? Confused- Top

Re: Question Re:Correction

Yes, I believe that the '208' carb was the correct one for the 1968 300 hp with THM application. I'm not sure if that carb was used for anything else, or not, but I don't think so. What I was saying is that the reason that you found the '207' carbs is that they were the ones used for SERVICE for all 68-69 Corvette (and, other Chevrolet) applications for MANY years. So, there are a lot more of these around to "find".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
