'64 Carpet Flap Over Seat Tracks ???

    Hello,

I'm getting ready to install new front carpets in my 1964 Corvette. Per the 63/64 NCRS Judging Manual, it states that for my car's serial number 09258 that the seat sits directly on the floor pan and the carpet is cut to create a flap that covers the seat track and anchor bolts.

My question is; does the carpet flap get cut only at the front where the seat track is in contact with the floor pan or should the carpet flap extend all the wat to the back of the seat track where it slides into the two hold-down brackets?

I'd like to install the carpet in the next day or to and would appreciate any answers to my question. If my question is too vague please let me know and I'll attempt to explain it more clearly.

    Best Regards,

THE SEAT CUT OUT IS ONLY IN THE FRONT, NOT REAR. I WOULD CHECK WITH THE 63-64 TEAM LEADER YOUR CAR MIGHT BE ALITTLE LATE.

Here is a picture of a 65 seat carpet cutout. It is the outside driver's track. Picture taken from passenger side. Flap only is over the front of the track, covering front bolt.

          Ken -

If I'm interpreting your comments and picture correctly, a slot-shaped section of carpet under the seat frame is actually removed, but at the front of the seat frame it is cut as a flap which goes over the front mounting bolt.

Is this correct? It seems like cutting the flap for the outside seat frame with the "hinge" of the flap on the inside would make it more visible. Also, did this method carry over into the 1966 cars?

          Thanks,

          Mike S
