    C1 oil pan spark plug retainers

    The AIM is not clear on which bolts the spark plug wire retainers should be on. Does it go on the 3rd from the front?

      Chris, I believe that they are in the fourth bolt from the front going back. The front oil pan bolt (at the front seal)is larger (not sure of the size)than the middle bolts and that is where I started counting from. If you are counting just the small bolts than yes, it is the third from the front.

              Thanks Justin.

              I'm not sure how the block drain plug would be in the way? The retainer attaches under the oil pan bolts.

                  What Dennis said is quite true. When the clips are in the correct position, the wires will hit the drain plug in the block as they leave the clip!
