the solenoid terminal farthest from the block WILL show voltage with the ignition on as it is feedback form the + side of the coil but it will be less that 12 volts. when you turn the ignition to start and if the solenoid is engaging you should see 12 volts to that terminal.

This may not help or correct the problem, but you can try it easily. The battery cable is connected to the solenoid. Remove the nut that secures the battery cable and remove the battery cable. Now remove or just lossen the nut that retains the bolt to the solenoid. Rotate the bolt 180 degrees and secure the bolt, install the battery cable and test the system. What the rotation of the bolt does is provide a new and unworn electrical contact area. Only half of the contact area on the bolt is used, rotating it positons the unused half for use. Another area to check is remove the starter and inspect the brushes of the starter.

To All Who Responded To This Message ...

It was the starter/solenoid ... I had them rebuilt today. After reinstalling and driving to heat it up, it restarted 15 minutes later.

I'll try it again to make sure!

        Thanks,
