C2 Console paint - The GM way ?

How did GM paint C2 consoles ? Hard to imagine masking all the chrome with a single masking shield. How'd they do it on the line ?

    Peter,

-------First of all, GM didnt make the consoles or paint them. An outside supplier was responsable. If you can find an original and look real close you will see that the line between the paint and the chrome is fuzzy. They must have used a heck of a mask because the job is generally very well done. You really have to look close to see it..........Bill S

I used that blue painter's masking tape on the 67 console and it came pretty well.
Now I'm wondering how to do the racetrack on the doors. Any tricks here.
