    Warner T 10 from 1962 FI

Hello, I have to replace the rear bearing retainer gasket.
After I remove the Case extension , can I pull the hole gear set
from the trans. ? I know I have to look for the bearing rollers (10).
Any other thinks to do. I only open the trans to see no more Oil under
my Car. At this time is it ness. to replace any other parts ?

    Thanks for your helb.

Yes, if you have the tail off you can pull the gearset out. I would at least put a small parts kit in it and new brass on the synchronizers while you have it this far apart. If you co not have a press, on a T-10 you can change the brass on 2-3-4 speeds without serious disassembly. The brass on 1st gear seldom is a problem. When reassembling, use a thin bead of black silicone sealer on the gaskets and reassemble, tightemimg the bolts only finger tight. leave it this way for about an hour and then tighten the bolts to spec. That should ward off leaks unless you have leakage at the cluster pin. That would require bushing the pin on the shaft.
