My C2, '65 327/350 TI engine dies after initial start up. I believe it is in the ignition. The electrical system for all other functions operates. The engine will restart after a few minutes and die again. The starter operates fine and it appears to have gas in the carburator. Any ideas whats wrong?

Have you eliminated fuel supply as an issue? Have you tried dribbling fuel donw the carb throat while someone is in the car? How about the accelerator pump? Does it work as advertised? Is there fuel in the bowl; has the fuel filter been changed anytime recently? IIRC, there is a procedure in the GM Chassis Service Manual to run the engine for a specified number of seconds and measure the output of the fuel pump. Just curious!

Ron: It could be your alternator is bad. The motor starts with electrical current from the battery, but once started the alternator supplies the electrical current to the system.

Could be lots of things. Most likely a heat sensitive transistor in the box, a bad coil or a bad pickup coil.
