I have a '65 roadster which I am replacing the jacking instructions and positraction decals located on the underside of the storage compartments cover. In the assembly manual, and references in Nolan Adams book and the Richard Newton Restoration guide, they describe the decals mounted over/under on the LEFT (driver's) side of the cover. I have an original cover with the "remains" of the decals which are mounted on the opposite side ( passenger ). Has anyone run into this ?? The decal positioning is described as "consistant".

Re: C2 positioning of Jacking Instructions
I believe the jack board was part of the carpet assy and the only label affixed would have been the JP Stevens label. I've seen a number of original jack boards where the JP Stevens label was partially or fully covered by the St. Louis installed jacking & positraction warning labels. I've also seen variation in placement of these labels, which I take to be a result of 'human factors' inconsistency by our UAW friends....
If you believe your jack board was a factory original/untouched piece, I'd say take pictures and restore the car the way you found it. I know a number of judges who wouldn't 'knock' you for this!- Top

The reminants of the jacking instructions on my '66 Conv. are on the pass side as well. I also noticed the inconsistancy with what the book says. I will be replacing the cover this winter when I install new carpet since someone decided to cut holes in it to install speakers. I havn't yet decided where to put the stickers on the new cover......P.J.- Top

Re: jacking / posi labels on p-side in my 65 too
My '66 original jackboard has the Stevens tag, the posi and jacking instructions on the passengers side. They are in poor shape, and I have taken the reference photo as suggested, and will replace as they were originally.
Cheers,
