    C-1 Tires

Anyone used Lucas tires for NCRS judging and how did they judge?

    Jerry -

Never heard of them, but they'd get the same deduction as any other non-OEM brand replacement tire; see page 21 of the NCRS Judging Reference Manual (the "white book") for the table of originality deductions for tires.

I think that Lucas is the company that repros the Firestone tires. Years ago what they did was use a 7.75X15 mold, put a 6.70X15 marking on it, and marketed it as "heavier, more rubber than the other 6.70 X15 repro. Which of course, it was--but it doesn't fit in your spare tire well nor does the plywood board fit down the way it should.
That's what used to be the case---don't know if that's still the case or not.
