I was trying to install a correct Carter AFB on my '64 (300 hp) tonight. The repo steel lines I purchased are about 3/8" too short - if I could extend the fitting out of the carb this much, everything would fit fine. I am thinking about using a brass nipple/coupling to accomplish the fix. Anyone encounter this problem before? No amount of bending or tweeking would get everything to line up.

Re: Fuel Lines - '64
I suspect the pipe is incorrect - either the wrong part or it doesn't met the OE dimension specs.
You may have the pipe for a '63 L-76 (3834124), which is different than '63 L-75 (3838598). Check against your '64 AIM. I believe the '64 L-75 part should be the same as '63 L-75. The '63 L-76 part is different because it does not have the phenolic spacer under the carb.
I think you should discuss this with the vendor and obtain the proper pipe rather than attempting to jury rig a solution.
