    What is that hose for?

Looking at pictures of a correct '65 327/365 engine, I noticed what looked to me like a vacuum hose on the passenger side of the engine running from the base of the air cleaner to some where below the exhaust manifold? I'm not confusing this with the choke hot air tube which is correctly hooked up. Can anybody fill me in on this or have pictures they could send? Thanks.

It is the clean air hose. It sends filtered air into the bottom of the exhaust manifold heat tube, where it exits out the top, and into the choke housing.

Is there a hole on the exhaust manifold for some type of fitting? Does anybody still sell the correct parts? Thanks.

        William:

If you have the proper 3797902 right side exhaust manifold installed, then it has a sleeve inside, from top to bottom for the choke heat. Sometimes this tube corrodes and perforates over time, but replacements are available.

Go to www.lics.com and look at section 22 of the catalog

The parts for the entire assembly are: 45c, 51b, and 45g.

            William:

I'm sorry, but I gave you the wrong link, it should be:

            www.licorvette.com

Does your manifold have the hole with the tube inside? This was not used after 1965, as the choke stove was moved to the intake manifold.

Yes, it has a hole on the top where I ran the steel tube up to the choke but I don't recall another hole for the fresh air tube - maybe it was too rusty to see.
