    '67 Goldlines Tires??

Is this true? 1967 Corvettes did not come with goldline tires. I just check the JM amd it only list P92 Whitewalls and QB1 Redlines.

OK, so the JM is correct. Any reason why the goldline tire option was not offered.

Ralph: I don't recall that the gold lines were very popular at the time...

I see them not being popular because they were not offered.

            Ralph,
            Interesting thinking.

A check of the Corvette Black Book provides the following data. In 1965, 989 cars were ordered with Goldline tires. Total production of '65's was 23,562 units. Therefore, only 4.2% of the cars were ordered with the Goldlines.

In 1966, 5557 cars were ordered with Goldlines. Total production was 27,720 units. Simple math reveals that 20% of the '66's were ordered with Goldlines.

Interesting that just about the time the Goldlines started getting popular, they were discontinued for Redlines. Just for info., in '67, 4320 cars out of 22,940 units were ordered with Redlines. For 18.8%.

            Regards,
            Gene
