    C2 wiper/washer motor

My wipers work fine but he washer doesn't. When you push the button for washer it doesn't even make a noise. Should I just have the washer pump rebuilt, or is the wiper motor not engaging the washer pump? Which one needs to be rebuilt?

    Jeremy:

Remove the 2 wire (washer solenoid) connector from the wiper motor housing. Check for continuity between the 2 terminals on the housing. If you have continuity, then have a friend turn the ignition to "on" . Connect a VOM between the 2 terminals of the disconnected harness. Have your assistant press the washer button. You should observe a MOMENTARY 12v reading at the connector.
If the first test in negative, then you have a bad (open) washer soleniod. If the second test is negative, then you either have an open in the wiring from the switch, and/or a bad (dirty contacts inside) your wiper/washer switch. If NEITHER test is negative, then you have a mechanical problem inside the wiper transmission. Come back with what you find.
