Has anybody been contacted by a "Allan Quints" of Sunderland England offering to sell a mint turquoise '57 for $11,000. He will ship you the car from France after he receives your $3000 deposit send to a blind Western Union account. This may be old news but I came across his posting on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, but they since pulled it off the auction block. He claims the car's VIN is E57S101383. Does anybody have any further info on this con artist?

Re: Fraudulent C1 for sale
Hey, I have a better idea. I'll send you the exact same car he does for only $2000.
Like has been pointed out, this scam has been running for months and not just Corvettes. Many of them are real accounts that have been hacked. When you get those notices from "ebay" to change your password because of security reasons or refresh your account info, you are supplying some hacker with all he needs to take your account and run this scam.
Allan Quints, if that is the name on the eBay auction, may be a real person who is as much victim as those sending the money.
NEVER log into eBay, your bank, your ISP, etc from an email sent to you. Always check the URL the link refers to.
http://www.ebay.com goes to ebay
http://www.ebay.com.security.info.ru does not. It goes some site named info in Russia.
If you don't know how to read a URL, then go to eBay, your bank, your other online billing account DIRECTLY and not via the email.- Top
