Thanks to all who replied to my previous thread about my problem with Riverside Red paint shades. Thanks to all who EMailed me.
Problem solved. The first batch of paint was mixed incorrectly. I didn't know that my painter mixed his own paint, using the PPG system. He had called PPG and was given the formula over the phone. This was the more "orange" tinted paint that I questioned.
On Tuesday, he ordered a pint of Riverside Red from another source. Guess what? It matched the original paint under my decklid and in the door jambs, and was "more red/less orange".
He called PPG Professional Services again. Talked to another person and was given a different formula for Riverside Red. The first person he spoke with had given him the formula incorrectly, adding more "minims/drams" of orange to the formula. When he mixed another batch, with the new, "really correct this time" formula, it matched.
So, I'm much more comfortable about this now. Glad I questioned the color. Glad I got input from many of you here on the DB. Thanks again. Chuck
