    TH400 Selector Shaft GM Number?

Does anyone know the GM number for the selector shaft and seal for a TH400 transmission? Is it still available from GM?

Part #'s from the real but old Corvette parts book shows the seal as #8623056 and the turbo 400 shaft #8626979. Any GM parts counter can order the parts and most can have them overnight, at least my GM parts counter has. Don't know if the part #'s are still the correct ones, but the parts most likely will be still available.

Unless those two numbers have been superceded by others, they're no longer available; Joe will know for sure.

        John, Jim, and Paul-----

Seal GM #8623056 is now known as GM #8657163 and currently GM lists for about 6 bucks.

Shaft GM #8626979 was discontinued "many moons" ago and has been replaced, successively, by several different parts. Currently, it's known as GM #8679990 and GM lists for about 43 bucks.

Thanks Joe for the updated numbers. Paul the list price for the shaft is a few bucks today. I don't know what shape your selector shaft is, but when I replaced the selector shaft seal in my 70 turbo 400 the seapage was stopped without replacing the selector shaft. John the Corvette parts book I took the part numbers from was a 1981 issue.
