Is the reproduction ignition shielding that is available from vendors of good quality compared to original. .? . . Is there more than one manufacturer of these pieces . .? .

      Re: ignition shielding

I am very pleased with what I received from Corvette Central, and comparing that to what was left from my original shielding the quality is very good.

One note, the C1 and C2 repro shielding is very good. C3 there are several vendors making this. Some of it is exact and some varies quite a bit. On these cars the chrome is way too good. Be sure that you know what the original looks like on these cars.

            Re: ignition shielding

Excellent point regarding chrome quality, especially for '68 - the year of flash chroming. Original valve covers and ignition shielding chrome was .....well, at least it was chrome. Just not what some venues would consider to be "show quality". The shielding I bought from Corvette Central may be a slight cut above factory, but still not too superior IMHO
