62 rear tailpipe install method

What is the right method for installing the RH RR tailpipe? I removed the old one thru the side but the new one will not go in this way. It hits the tire tub at one end and the body opening at the other. I tried from the rear and from the front. Suspension is all the way down.

How is it supposed to go in? I can put the old pipe back in and out.

help! I am ready to start it and this is what is holding me up after almost a year of work!

Is the new pipe the same as the old? If it is, there should be no probloem, if it isn't, better find out which is the right one.

They are not the same but I had the one that goes on made up at a muffler shop about 14 years ago. Still in good condition except that it is rust covered.

I ended up cutting the crossover to fit. Also used my old tailpipe. Hopefully I can figure out what is wrong and resolve but I wanted to get it running this weekend.

Chris: I don't work for C/C, but I've ordered many exhaust systems from them. Always cussed the install, but never had to cut a pipe. Never ordered anything from Allen's, so no clue about those issues... I do understand about your comment that you wanted to get it running this weekend. Best, Dennis
