    HELP! DISTRIBUTOR NEEDED

I'm returning my '64 Coupe 327/365 engine back to all OEM and am looking for a good Delco tac drive distributor to replace the dual point Crager someone installed years ago. Either "early" Delco # 1111062 or "late" 1111069. Any and all leads most appreciated. THANKS!

Several places to buy a distributor. The NCRS Driveline and www.tispecialty.com are a couple to check.

      Fred-----

You don't need the complete, original distributor. All you need is the ID BAND from an original distributor. Most Corvette distributors from the 64-74 period can be internally re-configured to match the specs of the original distributor. Add the ID band to such a distibutor and you've got a distributor which is indistinguishable from the original.

        Fred:

Joe is absolutely correct, as usual. Additionally, though, I would modify any original casting by adding the nylon thrust button for the tach drive cross shaft. This button appears on all later tach drive distributors. If done correctly, this is an INTERNAL modification/upgrade, which is undetectable. Its purpose is to better locate the cross shaft, and extend its life. The button is sold in 2 versions: nylon or bronze. Suggest using the nylon part, as the bronze is often too thick, and usually must be shaved to allow full insertion of the cross shaft.

Are the thrust buttons available from GM or are they aftermarket?

They are available aftermarket. I don't know if available GM.
