Does anybody have the NAPA part number for the correct vacuum can on a '65 327/365? I have asked this question before but I can't find the thread. Also, I have a couple cans laying around with numbers stamped on them containing the letter "B", such as B21, B16. What does this mean? Thanks.

Re: '65 327/365 vacuum can
the VC1810 should have B28 stamped on it like the one in this picture. This particular can came from carquest - I think it was made by standard igition but still has the B28.
The Bxx numbers helps identify the can.

Re: '65 327/365 vacuum can
I believe most of the currently available vacuum cans are made by Dana Controls and whoevers name is on the box, even Delco, will have the same ID number stamped on the mounting bracket.
As stated, the correct spec vacuum can for the 372/365 is stamped B28, and the NAPA/Echlin part number is VC1810.
This can provides 16 degrees of crank advance at 8" and should be used for all engines that generate less than 14" of idle vacuum, which would include all SBs with OE mechanical lifter cams. It is also used on L-79 even though L-79 generates about 14-15" of idle vacuum. The VC 1765, which provides 16@12" would be satisfactory for L-79, and it is also suitable for 425/435 HP SHP mechanical lifter cam big blocks that convert from ported to full time vacuum advance.
