Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a '60 heater blower motor rebuilt/restored?

Re: C1 Heater Blower Motor
I've called several places in Dallas. I would have thought any electric motor repair facility could handle this but what I get is that they all work on larger or smaller devices. Since it's about the same size as an electric fan motor, I'll try small appliance repair shops next. It doesn't need rewinding, just bushings and a new lead wire. I'll do the case restoration myself.

Re: C1 Heater Blower Motor
I seem to remember that there was one on Ebay very recently. Advertised as NOS, NIB. I also remember that the price was low - ~$40. That usually means that the part is still available - either from GM or widely reproduced. FWIW.
Any electric motor can be repaired. Usually all they need are brushes. Bearings sometimes. Most electric motor repair shops can make brushes and bearings. Of course, custom work is expensive.- Top

Thanks Chris. I bought a replacement from Eckler's and it isn't close to being right without modifications. I then called GM Restoration Parts who did have them listed. When I asked about them, they told me they get them from Eckler's too, so it would end up being the same item. Chicago Corvette told me that they have them but that the Eckler's part is closer than what they offer for the older models.
This is a simple task that is becoming a lot more difficult than it should be.- Top

Bob, in terms of a replacement, you might try J. C. Whitney. I haven't looked at one of their catalogs in a long time, but they used to carry a lot of this type of stuff for older cars. There is also the junkyard route, as I think most GM cars of the period used similar motors, but in a lot of areas older cars are getting hard to find.- Top

You, of course, realize that the part cannot be seen and is not judged.- Top

Re: C1 Heater Blower Motor
I just redid my motor on my 61. I own an autoparts store and ordered a replacement motor from AC Delco, Four Seasons, Everco and Siemens, none of which where even close. I didn't want to rebuilt mine because my car was in a flood in the summer of 99 in NJ. When I took off the motor, water and rust came out of it. But with a little time, and some patience, I got it work perfectly, and it is an original.- Top
