If you have (or can get) 3 phase to your shop it will not only lower your power bill for this amp loving monster, but you can also get some nice equipment. Mine is a 25 hp rotary screw machine that has more of a whine than the clump-clump of the old pistonbangers (doesn't wear out rings either!). It is still louder than I like, but I put it in another room so I can muffle it effectively. If you want to shoot gelcoat, you'd better get a dryer behind your compressor. If you have others use your shop while you do, you should consider the air they will draw, also.

Lyle - you sound like me... I have a Quincy 340 two stage pressure feed with 10HP..... 29 CFM at 180 psi. Also have a Qunicy 390 pump I plan to build up with a 20HP 3 phase motor running on a rotary phase converter.......will push abut 65 CFM at 180 - 200 PSI. You can't have too much air for a bead cabinet when you want to run fire hose size nozzles.....
