There have been lots of questions here regarding classic auto insurance lately. I ususally go with State Farm, Agreed Value policy, but I recently found out they won't insure cars over $100K if they are stored in a place without a fire protection system. Hagerty apparently does, and Classic Auto Insurance may also - both of these outfits do not offer a deductible on comp or collision, which tends to elevate the premium. My question is about Classic Auto Insurance, as they have an ad in the latest Driveline - has anyone here used them, and what are your experiences? Their quote was several hundred dollars less than Hagery for the same type coverage. Thanks.

Re: 1 more question about Classic Insurance
have you checked American Collector's Insurance (ACI)? I have an agreed value policy with them for my 1963 Z06 - no deductibles, like you are looking for and over $100K policy - I pay $715/yearRick Aleshire

Deductibles...
Not offering a deductible is a rip-off. Think about it- most high dollar collectible cars are rarely driven. If your $100K car is stolen, and you have to pay a $1000 deductible, that is an imperceptible percentage of the claim. However, paying large premiums with zero deductible costs you year after year... the statistics are in THEIR favor, which is why most collector insurers don't offer a deductible. With that said, ACI appears to offer a deductible, and so they will likely earn my business. Thanks for pointing them out (Hagerty and Classic Automobile Insurance don't offer a deductible).- Top
