    Interior paint for 65 coupe

I am restoring a 65 silver coupe. What type of paint was used at factory for interior hard parts? I know the vendors now are selling dye to do both hard and soft interior items, but to me the hard items seem to be a little rough to the touch after using the dye on them (and somewhat dull). Also if the factory paint was different from exterior to interior, where is the cut off line on the door? Should I paint the interior parts with the same paint as the exterior?
    Thanks

The cutoff line at the door is right down the center of the round edge in the rear of the door opening. there ae different gloss levels for different components. I believe the JG has a good representation of what goes where.

Assuming a coupe for windshield, (65) the windshield lower garnish molding is flat. Gloss is used on the windshield side and upper moldings, door window inner frames, Halo Panel, Inner kick panel retainers. Reference PPG-Ditzler paint color chart for interior gloss levels, dated 3/65

I have a Silver Exterior and Interior. Would it be correct to use the same paint for both?

There are specific mixes for Interior paints. I would contact your paint vendor for the appropriate mix.

When I painted my 65 white interior, I used a can of spray paint form Mid-America at the time. It is a lacquer with what I see as the correct gloss for the hard parts. I don't feel a "dye" paint is correct for any hard (metal)interior part or the plastic halo part.

I used interior dye with a clear coat for shine on my '60 in 1987. It has now faded to the point that it needs re-done. I would never do it again, I would use a lacquor paint. Don H.
