I Can't Find or Know What To Call This...

I have a '64 327/300 w/Carter AFB. I'm looking for a PCV valve. The shop manual calls it a "fixed metered orfice". The drawing of it looks like a block with a hose fitting on it. I have a pvc valve on mine but that can't be correct. My local GM dealer said the part #6421934 was for '63-'64 and is no longer available and has no superseeding number. I find no such animal anywhere I look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Randy,

Try Paragon for the metered orifice as I believe this part took the place of the PCV valve in 1964 and 65. The 1963 vette had a PVC valve and is a different configuration than the 64 and 65. If you have a Paragon catalog there might be a picture of what you are looking for. Tim

      Paragon has it: Part #1061

Hose runs from the oil filler tube to the fitting at the rear of the carb.

Note that the elbowed metered orifice fitting does not screw directly into the back of the carb. There is a fitting in between them, essentially a spacer, that moves the elbow off the carb enough to permit the hose to attach w/o interference. Paragon has the spacer as well, or you can make one with a brass nipple and coupling (cut the nipple down a bit so it's not too long if you have to).
