Spoke with my car's 2nd owner today.

Back in May I sent a letter to owners #2 and #3 asking for information on my 72. As many of you know, I had it Flight judged twice last year, and received Bowtie last year.

The second owner finally called me this past weekend, and I just got called him back this evening. We had a short but pleasant conversation about the car. I learned some things, and it helped to clarify some information on its history. Unusually enough, it turns out the original owner may be my B-i-L's boss.

I hope to contact #2 again this weekend and arrange a meeting. He has a lot of pictures of the car, and I hope to drive it out to show him. He has had other cars including a Corvette since mine, but the 72 is still his favorite.

I'm lucky to have the full lineage of my car, but talking with the previous owners is fun.

I have a '67 with all sorts of clues pointing to Niagara County in NY, including the dealer code number. However, I can't find anyone who remembers the car (before 1975).

The internet has been a good tool for finding folks. I have had fun discussions with people along the way. Some were frequent drag racers at the old "Niagara" strip.

Hope all is well on the "west coast".

another search story

I ran an ad in the driveline looking for previous owners of my 67 coupe for several months when I got a call from a member who went to the dealership with the original owner to pick up the car. He recognized the dealership and second owners name in my ad. He told me that the original owner had passed away at age 32 but his brother would probably like to hear from me. I called the original owners brother who was thrilled to hear about his brothers car. He had not seen it sine 1969 but had a picture of his brother with the car from 1967 over his desk as I spoke with him. I plan on visiting soon. The Driveline works !
