67 T.I. coupe, HORN RELAY WIRE Question

I',rewiring my engine compartment and have a pretty simple question if someone has the time to pop their hood they can answer or a set of better prints.

On my horn relay assy, I marked the wires that slide onto the spades under the relay grn and blk, but the two large wires I didn't and my print doesn't show me a exactly where the large solid RED wire goes (I'm supposing to the Batt-Conn) since it is stamped BATT. on that part of the relay

The other large RED wire is connected/attached (sealed in rubber boot) to a black wire of about a #10/12 that has the proper attaching connection for the relay also. Does that one go on the other side of the battery wire?

    Thanks,grr#33570

George, on my 67 which has not been tinkered with. Looking at the relay as it is mounted to the radiator support. The red wire with the black wire on the same lug, go on the far right terminal of the relay. The other red wire goes to the immediate left of the black/red wire which actually jumper together on the relay.

      Warren:

Thanks for your looking for me. I appreciate it. The solid red wire as you said attached to the outbrd side of the relay and BATT is stamped there, the other wire which as you noted is Red then incapsolated in a rubber boot about a 1/2" or so long, is a steel crimp fitting inside which attaches Red to the Black wire that attaches as you said to the inbrd side or next to the radiator core.

I finsihed the installation of both the trns/Ign harness and engine compartment harness. Only casualty was my Left headlight door switch I broke off the clip fro the damn thing. They run about $7.00 or so. I'll get one tomorrow.

Now my amp gauge works also. I noticed since I started on the mechanical end after the body and interior restoration last October the wiring harness was not in good shape. Sta-kon fittings (jury rigs under tape)all over and hidden by black electrical tape.

Then this weekend I noticed a bund of wires taped over headed back towards the voltage regulator. Like they were dead ended and covered up with tape. Untaped and found melted wires, jackets open, crimp jobs on other colored wires that the diagrams don't mention.

Again thanks for your time as these cars have all kinds of hidden things done to them over their 30+ years of life. The new harnesses look good also and I feel better that I've removed the hashers special. No telling how many years the cars been like that.

      Thanks,grr#33570
