My '62 recently was re-wired in engine and interior harnesses. My instrument lights work after replacing fuse, but after a couple of off and on pulls of the switch, the fuse blows. I've replaced light switch and reconnected black wire to another ground at dash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lightless in Seattle.

Re: C-1 instrument lights shorting out
hi don, i noticed nobody responding to this. gee i wonder why? these things can be tough. couple suggestions. did u put an amp meter on the dash light circut to see how much juice its pullin? if i m correct, when u pull out the switch on the first click, the parking lights also come on which draws a lot more current===try disconnectoing the parking light circut and see if it still blowes the fuze. u could try hooking up a test lead w a fuze in it from the dash lead directly to the battery and see if it blows a fuze==that would tell u a lot. its usually something head slappin simple so keep truckin. re. d.- Top
