    Correct 67 BB Intake Gaskets

I'm looking for a set of correct BB intake gaskets for my 67. I was told a guy who advertises in Hemmings (not the corvette section) has them. Can't remember his name.

I believe I'm looking for a set with GM tabs on the front and back pieces, possibly with both tabs facing the rear when installed. Right?

Had a set from Paragon previously and received a deduct.

    Thanks, Bill Becker

Bill I got a set from either Dr.Rebuild or Long Island Corvette that are correct. The after runner tab I believe is the only rubber when installed that will show the GM logo. I never used mine as I've used FelPro.

    Good luck,grr#33570

      Bill-----

Keep in mind, too, that 2 different gasket sets were used for 1967. L-36 and L-68 engines were oval port, whereas L-71, L-71/L-89, and L-88 used rectangular ports. Of course, the end seals are the same for both engines so if you find a set which is not functional for your engine (because of port size), you could still use the "correct" end seals from the kit.

As I've said before, I don't use these end seals because Permatex Ultra Copper or Ultra Black RTV will provide a superior oil seal. Would I, personally, sacrifice the better oil seal for that miniature little GM trademark on the gasket supplied end seals? Not on your life! But, to each his own.

Bill --- Can't vouch for the "little GM" on the rubber tabs of the end seals of repro gasket sets, but, as you and "gr" mention, the front seal tab is on the underside of the manifold, and can't be seen. Now I don't have the '67 Judging Guide, but there was a thread back at least 6 months about cars getting deducts for both tabs not being visible, due to an incorrect description in the guide, coupled with inexperienced judging. In the '65 TM & JG, the end gaskets for the L78 are not even mentioned.
