Battery Restoration

Hello:

I have an old R59S Battery with the correct codes for a 1968 Corvette. It will
not take a charge no more. Acid has been drained and baking soda added to neu-
triliaze the residue. I have heard of people cutting open battery and disposing
of the insides and installing a "heavy duty" motorcycle battery inside the bare case just for judging purposes. Has any body ever done this? What is the procedure?

There is no procedure as the case is plastic and heat sealed. Call Restoration Battery and order you a new battery. Phone 1 513 451-1038. They advertise in the Driveline.

Larry Some shark owners with a battery that is not reproduced have cut the bottom out where the judges can't see and made a hook up inside to a small battery for judging. If you are crafty you can make it work but you won't be the first. I have seen two that were proud of their work after judging was over. Lyle
