    56 to 62 windshield frame troubles

    hello, i need some help with reassembling a 56 to 62 windshield frame. was the upper stainless molding installed over the upper support as a unit or can it be removed and reinstalled. having a lot of trouble getting the upper frame back into the upper stainless. thanks tom

    Tom,

    I attached the upper frame to the windowshield posts before attaching the stainless molding. I took long screws with the proper thread and filed a point on them to aid in locating the holes in the upper frame. I set the stainless piece on the top of the frame and snugged the front to the frame lining up the holes with threaded holes in the receivers in the top frame. I then screwed the long screws part way to keep the stainless in place. Next, with a rubber hammer, gently tap the back of the stainless into place. It should snap in place. Once you are happy with the fit, front and rear, remove the long screws one at a time and replace with the proper screws. At least that's how I did it. Came out looking nice. I'm sure others will give you more info.
