The hood release cable on my 1960 is stuck - lucky for me the hood is up. The cable will work if I pull it out and if I push it in - but will not spring back itself. Seems to be a lot of friction in the cable. I have two questions.
1. is there any way to lubricate the cable without taking it off - I have tried WD40 And 3in1 oil - but it is tough to get it all the way into the cable.
2. How the heck do you get the cable out. It looks like the end is screwed into the bracket that holds the parking brake. I disconnected the bracket from the dash - but I can't seem to unscrew the hood release. do I have to remove the parking brake?
thanks for the help.
