They get almost 160,000 new auctions posted every day - would take more than a few folks to screen all of them; most of the "Portugal Pete" scam auctions are taken down within a day or two, so they're doing a pretty good job. Corvettes are only a small part of the scammers' action - they're active in many other high-dollar categories, and not just cars - anywhere there's potential for big money and pine tree-stupid buyers.

all of the scams are HIJACKED email addresses and information of LEGITIMATE eBayer's! By the time eBay management gets around to checking a scam out they have already hijacked someone else - that is why it is important for everyone who uses eBay (and I bet there are a lot of us who do) is very careful in how you list everything, etc. WORD TO THE WISE
