Waterproof and Short Term Car Cover Recommendation

I never drive my car in the rain, and I store it indoors. Didn't think I needed a waterproof car cover until I saw a bunch of C1s and C2s outside in the pouring rain (hurricaine remnants) last weekend. I know my car leaks a lot when I wash it. Wouldn't want to have the car stuck outside in a downpour.

Looking for a recommendation for a lightweight, easy to carry in the trunk, emergency, temporary, waterproof car cover.

Waterproof covers promote rust, mildew, and mold. this is why you do not see those much anymore. The idea of covers is to have one protect from the dirt and sun, but not rain.

The cure is to fix the leaks. Or you could get a waterproof tarp for only the area (assuming the roof or windshield) and use a regular cover for the rest.

For emergency a lightweight plastic painting dropcloth over the area that leaks with a regular car cover lightweight to hold it down will work. I have seen a soft car cover then the drop cloth with another cover over it on the judging field overnight. Lyle

Try a cover called NOAH, its waterproof but breathable. Similar to Gortex material used in golf rainsuits and shoes.
