brake light warning switch on 67

My 67 came with 6 large boxes of parts and I am unable to find the brake system warning switch that goes under the master cylinder. The original GM # was 3904303 and they were date coded. Is this part currently available through GM?

Since the master cylinder basic configuration seems to be similar for the next couple of years, will a later switch work? I am going to the Corvette Expo in Houston tomorrow and could probably locate one there.

The 67-68 brake distribution block and warning light switch, GM #3904303, was discontinued more than 10 years ago.

As far as I know, later units will work but will require considerable modification to use them, including replacement brake lines and switch mounting. The additional problem is that most of the later units are discontinued, too, and may be equally difficult to locate.

The only units which are still available from GM are the 74-77 unit, GM #339780, and the 78-82 switch, GM #1257208. The latter part is a combination valve which combines proportioning (fixed), brake fluid distribution, and brake warning light functions. I would NOT recommend its use on your car as the proportioning feature of this valve is designed for the weight distribution of the 78-82 Corvettes.

Dr. Rebuild used to have some of these switches in stock, including the 67-68 switch. I don't know if he still has any, but you might check with him.
