    C2 idler arm question

    Members,
I'm looking for advice and a sanity check.

My original, 44K mile '65 has the original idler arm. No grease fitting.

I'm wondering what is the life (in miles) of such an arm? Car will untimately be judged, but also driven regularly.

Question is: Should I replace the original arm with a replacement, for driving, and keep the original in my archive parts for judging? I cannot find a replacement idler arm that does not have a grease fitting and I hate to wear out an irreplaceable part.

All ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gene

    Re: C2 idler arm question

Replacement idler arms without grease fittings were available on e-bay for $55 each. They also have the round not rectangular cross section on the arm, but do not have a forging number. Look in the regular, not collector car parts under Corvette.
    Good luck,
    Mark
