    C1 Transmission?

    My car is a "58 with a transmission with a tag 3915077. It has a 3884655 GM casting number at the top of the cover the driver's side. The speedo cable connects on the passenger side. Any idea what this transmission is - truck? Thanks in advance.

              Used in Corvette and passenger cars. Aluminum case and tailhousing. Should have a number cast into the main case on the pass side, ending in 325, 010, 660 or 661 depending on the year.

                  Bill has forgotten more than I'll ever know, but..

                  ...I don't believe '58 Corvettes w/ 3 or 4 speed ever had the speedo drive ever enter from the RH (passenger) side. Best, Dennis
