Anyone have a recommendation on a spray paint that looks like cad plate.

The Eastwood Co. sell's a 4-step spray product called (Golden Clad), that produces a very good authentic look when applied correctly. Their # is 1-800-345-1178.

I do not have any experience with the Eastwood product that Don has recommended. But I have tried two other Eastwood products that I will comment on.
They (Eastwoods) have a spray product called Clear Zinc and one called Silver Cad. I test sprayed a couple of items with each and was NOT satisfied with the resulting finish. Looked like cheap aluminum paint to me.
My honest opinion.

Ditto the experience with Eastwood's cadmium paint --it was actually light blue! A complete fraud. By they did refund the purchase price without protest.
However, one of my former cars was Top Flighted with painted female hood latches and also the hood prop. Although it's been a closely guarded secret up to now, I can reveal that Krylon High-Heat Aluminum was used. It's an industrial paint intended for steam radiators (like in your bedroom, not your car).

Thanks - I may try that - all I really want to do is put some cad type finish on the female hood latches before i overspray with flat black. The other option is to paint them completly black.
