Could anyone tell me the correct letter size and spacing used for a 1972 frame stencil I have available at work several old (25 yr )stencil machines and I wanted to see if I could made a stencil for my 72.

there is a book , available to you that shows "gothic' as the font and i believe the size was 3/4 " . someone will jump in and advise if different. you should just purchase one from the majors. it is simpler. -

Thomas Your 72 should have 1" letters. Four speed- 6263620-131 first line Auto 6263623-141 first line 2.1.72 second line is the date make correct for your 72. When you install it on your frame remove the splash shield and it goes on upside down. Only let about 1/2 of all the numbers so they can be read the rest are covered up by the rubber on the shield. If you have the right machine it is easy as I have made them. A good book with pictures is Corvette chassis restoration guide 53-72 by Tripoli.Lyle
