    C2: 1967 Windshield Washer Pump

Does anyone know where I can find overhaul instructions for a 67 windshield washer pump. I've got it off the car per the service manual; it comes off as an assembly. Then the service manual says that it is serviced as an assembly and tells you how to put a new one back on.

Specifically, I want to change the rubber bellows and the spring behind it. I have all the new parts. Just getting the old bellows off, has me stymied. Has anyone done this?

    Jerry,

Done em about a hundred times or more. Put your big fat thumb in the hole, push and twist about a half turn. Replace with the new one the same way. You can bump the cam over a couple of times and release some of the pressure off the spring behind the bellows and make the job easier.

      Thanks JR,

The thumb worked like a charm, just a push and a quarter turn and the bellows came right out. A new one went back in just as easy.

Attached is a picture of the old bellows(left) and a new one (right) similar to the one I put back on.

However, I got things reassembled with a new white plastic check valve assembly, and back on the car, and still no cigar. Took it back off to make sure the pin on the wiper assembly was in the slot on the pump, and put it back on, still not cigar. It clicks fairly loud and the bellows goes back and forth.

I primed it with a syringe and the jets spray, but no cigar when I put it on the washer reservoir. Do you think it's a defective white plastic check valve assembly, or could it be something else.

The bellows and the white plastic check valve assembly which I put on, were from an overhaul kit I got from Corvette Central.

        Jerry,

I think it's probably and air lock. Fill the squirter lines with the syringe and then fill the line from the bag to the pump. After a few cycles, it will probably begin to squirt. If not pull the white pump by taking the four screws out and check the two black valves. One could possibly be stuck on the seat.
