C2 clutch cross shaft

I have a 65 that I am having trouble adjusting the clutch. I am wondering how to tell if the clutch cross shaft (Z-Bar) and the fork rod are the right one for the car. I believe that the 66 and later models are different, how do I tell them apart?

'65-'66 BB - 3872962
'67-'74 All - 3888279

Don't know the specific differences.

The differences between the 3 cross shafts involves a slight difference in the angular relationships between the lever arms as welded to the shaft. Since the difference is slight, they are very hard to tell apart without having known-originals to compare to. Unfortunately, GM never stamped a part number on these shafts and there is no other identifying number to be found.

The fork push rods are easy to identify, though. The 64-66 small block rod is 10-9/16" long and the 65-66 big block rod and 67 and later for all applications is 8-37/64" long.
