Re: Source for Halon Extinguisher & Bracket

There are tradeoffs using halon vs ABC Dry Chemical. Halon no residue. Halon is fine for a SMALL fire in a confined space. Dry chemical lotsa residue. Works equally as well in an open or confined space. Has quite a bit more extingushing capablilty. Chose yer poison mates. No mess and should control a small fire, or make quite a bit of a mess but be able to extinguish quite a bit more fire.

Just fer grins. There is a 4th side to the fire triangle. It becomes a tetrahedron. The 4th side is chemical reaction. More useless trivia that you did not need to know

        Gary,

You are correct I probably could have done better. I bought there more for the bracket for the C2, which I liked. There are not too many places to put it that can be easily reached. I was also pushing to get a car done for judging and did not have a lot of time to shop.

How did the judges accept the bracket? Do you feel it was worth $55.00 seems a little steep to me, at $25.00 I'd have one.

Terry, I agree with you about mounting the FE and mine has a towel wrapped around it and is stuck in the back of the car. When I travel and fill the cavity below the rear window with stuff, I pull the extinguisher out and it occupies a space right below the seat belt retractor. That way I can use it if I need it.
